Jim Devine

BOOK HERE

He may have spent just less than two years on the road but Jim Devine now finds himself catapulted up among the elite of Irish country stars.
Along with his multi-talented band, the former ‘Voice of Ireland’ star is bringing a whole new dimension to the country dancing scene.
An innovative recording strategy that has spawned a string of hits including ‘Leighann loves to dance’, ‘Baby baby’ ‘We’re here to stay’ and ‘Sold’ coupled with a slick, enterprising stage show now ensure that the outfit will remain in the top bracket for some time to come.
The galaxy of awards which have come Jim’s way, particularly in the past year, testify to his new-found status. And the indications are that 2015 holds rich promise for the popular Tyrone singer and his band. Their penchant for delivering a lively, bouncy programme invariably sees them generate a tremendous atmosphere at all dances.
Having made an initial impact in the leading venues – and proven a big hit in England, Scotland and on the continent to boot – Jim is currently further enhancing his status as one of the top-drawing artistes. From a modest start, he has soared into orbit and his meteoric rise is one of the success stories of an entertainment business that can quite often be littered with broken dreams. With a full diary for the year ahead that encompasses appearances at many top-flight festivals and other events, plans for an ambitious new CD that could prove ground-breaking in terms of its quality and the prospect of much more exposure on radio and television, Jim and his band are set to conquer new horizons.
“We made a very tentative start following our launch in March 2013 but happily the air-play which was afforded to our first few singles proved instrumental in bringing us to a wider audience and thankfully we have managed to build on that,” explains Jim. “But you can take nothing for granted and there is certainly not the slightest element of complacency in our approach. We are delighted to note that we now have many loyal followers and we want to try and ensure that we will continue to provide only the best in entertainment for them.”
The country dancing scene in Ireland has undergone something of a renaissance in recent years because of the emergence of a raft of fresh, hugely talented bands that are laying down a marker for the future. It can be truthfully stated that Jim Devine is certainly playing his part in helping to cement this welcome trend.

Following numerous visits across the water to England, Jimmy is building up a large fan base and his concerts and dances are always sold out. When he finishes one tour, he is inundated with requests for details of his next.

Jimmy first came to the attention of the Birmingham Audiences when he appeared on Bob Brolly’s Big Charity Show, in the Symphony Hall, Birmingham, on Sunday 22nd June 2003. Since that first appearance Jimmy’s star has certainly continued to rise.

After his massive hit song “Your Wedding Day”(written by Henry McMahon), Jimmy conquered the Irish music scene and he continues to make his mark on the concert scene in England.

In 2007 Jimmy released his first DVD “Live In Concert”. The DVD won “DVD of the year” Irish World award and it has been shown coast to coast on U.S television on more than one occasion.

Also in 2007 Jimmy visited Nashville, Tennessee. It was everything he had hoped it would be, from the visit to the Grand Old Opry to the Country Music Hall of Fame but the icing on the cake was the visit to Gracelands, the home of Jimmy’s idol, Elvis. Later Jimmy said that the visit was very emotional and inspiring.

In February 2008 Jimmy worked on a Caribbean cruise and then in March/April he toured with Charley Pride.

BOOK HERE

Barry Kirwan was born on the 14th February 1986 with music in the very makeup of his DNA. As the son of Irish country music singing sensation Dominic Kirwan, it comes as no surprise that Barry had showbiz aspirations from a very early age.

Growing up, Barry was a committed member of his school’s choir and devoted much of his time performing in school productions or competing in various solo singing feis’.  At the age of 5 he joined the Seamus Kerrigan School of Traditional Irish Dance where he stayed until the age of 18. Here Barry had the amazing opportunity to travel throughout Ireland taking part in a range of competitions, such as the All Ireland Dancing championships and Scór to name a few.

A triple threat, Barry can also add acting to his ever increasing list of talents after the years he spent as a member of the Hazel Wand drama school in his hometown of Omagh. No stranger to the stage, Barry was destined to return and seize the spotlight later on in life.

At age 11, Barry fell in love with drumming and excelled from grade 1-8 within the space of five years. His passion for the instrument led him to further study in London at Drumtech college, part of the British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM) schools.

Shortly after college Barry decided to join his father’s band as his drummer and provided backing vocals for over 4 years. Constantly growing as a musician, Barry left Dominic’s band in September 2010 and had the opportunity to live with his brother Colm in Nashville, the country music capital. During his time in the US he stayed with close friends, American country duo Joey & Rory where he had the incredible honour to play drums for 4 of their US shows.

As January 2011 came to a close Barry had began to work with Ireland’s princess of country music, Lisa McHugh and performed with her until September 2011 before becoming the drummer and backing vocalist for the hit recording artist Derek Ryan. During his 4 and a half years working with the Derek Ryan band, Barry toured all around Ireland, the U.K and Australia.
